SHAH ALAM, Jan 24 (Bernama) -- The issue of amending the Selangor Constitution seems to be far from over.
The Selangor government, which failed to garner the two-third majority needed to approve the amendment at the special sitting today of the state assembly, plans to refer the matter for a judicial review.
"I want to make a change. This change is necessary. I know there are many games in politics, but it is different in management. Otherwise, the efficiency of administration cannot be gauged," he said when winding up the debate at the special sitting.
Abdul Khalid said he would travel throughout Selangor, even in Barisan Nasional (BN)-held constituencies to explain that the PKR-DAP-PAS government had tried in vain to elevate the institution of the monarchy.
"I hope we can all learn together. Why mustn’t we make a change? We are taking care of Selangor. We are elected representatives. Don''t tell me we want to allow the federal government to obstruct development of the state," he said.

"To the assemblymen who did not agree with the amendments, I say that it is alright. No hard feelings.
"I extend my thanks to the BN assemblymen who attended the sitting and participated in the debate," he said.
